Cleaning, Day 18: I’m doing Science!

Cleaning done.  As usual, I have nothing much to say about it beyond that.   Luke smeared stuff on the wall and I had to scrub it off, but that’s about the extent of my bed-making/kitchen-cleaning news today.

Cleaning, Day 15: Pushing Through…

I’m walking, but I don’t want to be.  :/   This past weekend was so crazy, it’s left me feeling anxious and exhausted.  All I want to do is crawl in bed and pray the world goes away.

Crawl into my made bed.  I’m still being good about that, at least.

Cleaning, Day 14: Six Flags

We spent the day at Six Flags today, so keeping the kitchen clean was no problem.  We did get the bed made before we left, too.  Go us.

Cleaning, Day 11: Dreamin’…

Bed is made.  Kitchen is NOT clean.  I’ve been doing computer work all day, and the kids have been busy destroying the house wherever I don’t happen to be.   For Zack and Noah, this endeavor included some kind of water experiment in the kitchen, and now there’s stuff everywhere.  I’m going to TRY and tackle it tonight before I go to bed, but I’m already pretty tired and all I want is to go to bed.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate where I live? :/

Cleaning, Day 6: Almost Perfect, But Not Quite…

Andy came back today.  I managed to get the ground floor looking decent, but upstairs still needed work.  That’s okay; Andy probably barely notices anyway.  I did get the master bedroom straightened up and looking swell, so that’s probably all that matters.  That’s the sort of thing he notices, anyway.

Cleaning, Day 5: On My Own…

Today was nice.  This is actually surprising, because it could easily have not been nice.  Andy is out of town for a conference this weekend through tomorrow, and I’ve had to hold down the fort and keep all four kids under control by myself.  Truth be told, it hasn’t been bad at all.   Last night I even took the whole crew out to a sit-down Chinese buffet, since it was sort of a special Just Us night and all.   Before we went in I talked to them about how we were going to handle the food-getting and managing the toddlers, and it went amazingly well.    No one spilled anything, no one argued.  Everyone received food in an orderly fashion and everyone ate a good amount.   Total win!

Also: Crab Rangoon.  Terrible for you, but oooh….  Everyone needs a Crab Rangoon now and then.

Cleaning, Day 4: Cleaning Philosophy

Another day, another ‘Yes, I made my bed and cleaned the kitchen’ post.    But maybe I was too dismissive yesterday about the philosophical side of cleaning.  Perhaps there is content to be explored there, and I am being cavalier to overlook it?  Let’s see.

Cleaning, Day 3: This one is not about cleaning…

The downside to making ‘cleaning’ my goal is that there just isn’t much to WRITE about.     So yeah.. today I made my bed, and the kitchen is clean!  Somehow there’s just not much more to say about it.  I guess I could wax long and philosophical about the various types of pillows on my bed, or the challenges inherent with removing discarded Jell-O from a linoleum floor, but I somehow doubt that’s very interesting to read.

Let’s move on.

Cleaning, Day 2: Sparkle, Sparkle!

Well, so far so good.  As I write this, my bed is made, my room is straightened up and my kitchen is nice and clean.  I did a good job of staying on top of the kitchen mess, especially, and made sure to put everything away right away.  I really am sort of childish about that sort of thing, and I tend to just make a big mess and leave it when I’m cooking.   This would be a good habit to break.
