Lent, Day 32: Sweating the Weigh-In
Yeah, yeah, I know… I always sweat the weigh-ins. But this week I have actually not cheated and hopped onto the scale at any point, so I really have no idea what to expect tomorrow. It’s been a weird week, since as I mentioned yesterday I’m coming down off of a week where I’ve had a pretty healthy appetite following three or four weeks of having NO appetite. If the no-appetite weeks hurt my metabolism at all, this week will probably be bad.

Lent, Day 27: Spa in Sight…
You know, yesterday I meant to elaborate on this in the Weight Check post for this week, and realize I never did.
I’m with 10 pounds of my Spa Goal!

Exercise+, Day 19: Looking Down the Barrel
Today was another good day, I’m happy to report. When I got up this morning (which was around 7:30 am), I found that Zack had already been up for an hour and was through most of his lessons. He actually finished everything by noon. I was only TOO THRILLED to release him on his own recognissance for the rest of the day. After all, being done with one’s schoolwork by by noon is supposed to be one of the joys of homeschooling: you don’t have to wait for the rest of the class to finish their work before you can move onto the next thing.
And I, in turn, was equally industrious. I did three loads of laundry, three loads of dishes (No, I’m not kidding… and the dishes weren’t even piled up to start with; we just go through a LOT of dishes around here.) I got dinner made and in the oven on time, and I even made pudding for the kids for dessert. As if to underscore our good day, the weather cheered up to a balmy 50 degrees, and promises to be even better tomorrow. Mmmm!

Exercise, Day 21: Walking Really Late AGAIN!
Yeesh.. This needs to stop. Andy and I spent the entire day today cleaning (well, admittedly, except for the time I spent sleeping in today and then chatting for awhile online. Bad Jen!) and then my parents came by to play some pinochle. Ergo, it’s going on 11, and I’m just now walking. Once again, score one for the blog and the 21-day goal, because this was definitely a day when it would have seemed only prudent to skip it. But man, who dies on Day 21?!
So, here I am. And really, it’s sort of nice. It’s been a busy day, the house looks really good now, and this is kind of a good opportunity to reflect and consider what the heck I’m going to do for 21 days starting tomorrow.

Exercise, Day 15: 10% down, 10% to go. WWYD?
Okay.. so. I have achieved my first big WW milestone. I have lost 10% of what I weighed in November. 24.5 pounds, so we’ll round up and say 25. Just for the sake of perspective, I started looking around online for things that weigh about 25 pounds. Here’s a list of things I am not carrying around anymore:
- A typical male Shiba Inu (like Griffin)
- Three gallon jugs of milk.
- 5 standard bags of sugar.
- 15 round boxes of salt
- 12 1/2 dozen extra large eggs
It occurs to me at this point that perhaps conveying this weight in terms of food is probably a bad idea, especially since it’s a Down Day here.
So let’s move on.

Exercise, Day 12: Walking Late Again
Just a note to everyone out there: if you go to the Daniel Boone Home historic site and you’re hoping to get some walking in because, you know, they have a whole village there, and because, you know, it’s a beautiful day and all, just let me assure you right now not to even bother. The policies there have changed such that they only permit visitors to even walk into/around the Village as part of a private tour, and apparently during the winter they don’t have enough staff on hand to accommodate tours through the house AND the village.
That would have been a nice thing to have posted on, you know, their WEBSITE, but of course they didn’t bother to say anything. I mean, we had to go anyway, as part of a Home Life project for Zack’s class, but I wouldn’t have counted on that for my exercise if I’d realized.
So… I am walking late today, and hoping to get in at least 90 minutes of walking before I need to step off and go do something else. :/
