Cleaning, Day 6: Almost Perfect, But Not Quite…
Andy came back today. I managed to get the ground floor looking decent, but upstairs still needed work. That’s okay; Andy probably barely notices anyway. I did get the master bedroom straightened up and looking swell, so that’s probably all that matters. That’s the sort of thing he notices, anyway.

Sleep, Day 7: Compliments!
I screwed up sleep again, but church was fun this morning!
As much as I once whined about no one noticing my weight loss before, I really owe everyone around me an apology now. Admittedly, a loss of 60 pounds is bound to be more noticeable than a loss of 40, but still.. when you think about it, 40 pounds of a 245-pound woman is a loss of …what, 16% of my body weight? Where as 60 pounds is dropping my weight by a fourth of myself. It’s still a lot of weight regardless, but the overall change in my body is much larger.

Sleep, Day 6: Bunco Night
I failed again. Maybe I should just push this back by a whole week at this point? I mean, this time I had an excuse, since last night was Bunco Night, and I came home late enough that I couldn’t really get in any walking WITHOUT blowing my bedtime, but still. I really had hoped to do better than this.

EASTER!
I did it! Easter is here, and I made it all through Lent without breaking down and eating meat.

Lent, Day 43: Maundy Thursday
I guess technically I broke my Vegetarian fast for Lent tonight, but this was sort of a planned thing. Zion partnered with Apple of His Eye ministries to put on a Seder Meal for the church, which obviously involved eating lamb as part of the ritual. I went in planning that I would participate, since the whole point of going vegetarian was as a form of religious observance, and that was also the point of tonight’s meal.

Lent, Day 37: Wildlife Walkin’
Well, if I have been at all lax about walking this week (and admittedly, I did skip one day), I made up for it today. The kids had a series of activities today, including a Wetlands For Kids fair at Busch Wildlife. Andy was busy with a golf tournament all day, so I had to handle it by myself with all four kids. It actually went really well, though sadly Zack and Noah missed out on Archery because the line was too long.
The only downside (which, depending on how you look at it, could be sort of an upside) was the fact that parking was an absolute nightmare. In the end, we had to park WAY up one of the side roads and walk a long ways to get to where we needed to be. That plus the walking around AT the fair was a good amount of exercise for both me and the kids.
And I still walked 2 hours tonight besides, so go me!

Lent, Day 29: Salad Bar Fail
Noah’s birthday is tomorrow, so we decided to take him out to Chuck E. Cheese’s for dinner tonight. We’d go tomorrow, but it’s a Down Day and this seems easier than switching the weekend around. (Besides, the weather tomorrow is supposed to be really yucky.)
Since I’m still doing the vegetarian thing because of Lent, I opted for the salad bar rather than forcing the family to make half of the pizza cheese-only. Not much of a sacrifice, really, because as it happens Chuck E. Cheese’s has a pretty good salad bar. A nice selection of vegetables and fruit, it always looks really fresh, and the assortment of crunchy bits they offer is really good.
But there is one area in which Chuck E. Cheese’s salad bar commits a Salad Bar Fail, and that is this:

Lent, Day 27: Spa in Sight…
You know, yesterday I meant to elaborate on this in the Weight Check post for this week, and realize I never did.
I’m with 10 pounds of my Spa Goal!

Lent, Day 24: Virgins Wanted
We’re at the lake and settled now, and I find myself amusingly reminded of something that happened last Monday that I wanted to write about.
When I went to WeightWatchersOnline.com to put my new weight in, the ‘Weight Loss Tip of the Day’ that appeared on WeightWatchersOnline last Monday was entitled “Virgins Wanted”. Full credit goes to whoever thought that one up, because up until that point I had never even noticed the Tip of the Day, much less clicked on it. Curious to see whether Weight Watchers was either putting in an Abstinence program or just advocating some fun, new approaches to exercise or what, I absolutely clicked.

Lent, Day 23: Travellin’
Spring Break has officially begun here. To celebrate, we’re going to tackle something we’ve not done since November: we’re planning a trip to my family’s Lake cabin near Sullivan, Missouri. This will be the first real out of town trip we’ve made since Christmas, so it should be interesting.
