Cleaning, Day 15: Pushing Through…
I’m walking, but I don’t want to be. :/ This past weekend was so crazy, it’s left me feeling anxious and exhausted. All I want to do is crawl in bed and pray the world goes away.
Crawl into my made bed. I’m still being good about that, at least.

Cleaning, Day 1: A Fresh Start!
Okay… so sleep was a bust. I admit it. I keep trying to understand why that particular goal always ends up being such a challenge, but the answer I come up with is probably too deep and involved to go into here. So we’re not going to analyze it; instead, we’re going to just start over with something new and move on to more potentially successful habits instead.

Sleep, Day 6: Bunco Night
I failed again. Maybe I should just push this back by a whole week at this point? I mean, this time I had an excuse, since last night was Bunco Night, and I came home late enough that I couldn’t really get in any walking WITHOUT blowing my bedtime, but still. I really had hoped to do better than this.

Sleep, Day 3: Woo, Sleep!
Well, that’s two days down. How far did I get last time? I can’t even remember.
Unfortunately, I can’t say that I’m actually getting more SLEEP this way. Even though I tend to go to bed kind of late, the kids usually let me sleep (or at least doze) in enough that I generally get between 6 and 8 hours per night. Well, on AVERAGE, anyway. There are outliers.

Sleep, Day 2: So far, So good..
Well, okay.. the first night went fine. I was off of the computer by 11:15 or so, and in bed by 11:28 p.m.

Lent, Day 34: How I Do It
OKay… so… I’m down nearly 60 pounds now, and believe it or not, people actually notice! I’m sure this has to do with the fact that my clothes actually fit now, thanks to Michelle and Lisa, but regardless… Easily the most common reaction I get from people is, “What are you doing?” and, when I tell them, “Wow, how do DO that?”
So this will be the overview post. It will be redundant, but it’s the sort of ’shop talk’ version of the ADF thing, so it might be interesting even if you’ve been reading awhile.
Here’s what I do:

Lent, Day 28: The Good, The Bad, the Ugly…
Actually, today was more good than bad or ugly, but right now I REALLY don’t feel like walking. I’m not even sure why, to tell you the truth. I got the kids to bed early and I came down to walk by 8:30, which is really early for me. I don’t know why that would make much of a difference, honestly, but I find myself glancing at the timer a lot more tonight than I have recently.

Lent, Day 17: Trivia Night
Once again, ADF scheduling issues. Today is a DownDay, which is problematic because we’ve been invited by the Bates’ to a Trivia Night tonight. Same issue as the last time we went to one of these: snacking will be expected to comprise at least 50% of the evening’s activities. Problem is, tomorrow we have a Piano recital and a baptism party (also courtsey of the Bates family), so skipping eating tomorrow isn’t good either.
As it is, though, I haven’t eaten much today, so I think I’ve decided just to play it light both days. There was that Ramadan Diet 5-Hour diet or whatever that I read about that amounts to the same thing as ADF, but instead of eating every other day you only eat between the hours of 5 and 10 pm every day.
Maybe just for these two days I’ll work with that idea, just to feel like I’m doing the right thing without having to sacrifice the social events.

Lent, Day 15: Cold again!
Bleh. A cold front passed through yesterday, and I’m back to walking in a frigid basement. Either as a sign of protest or just out of brute stupidity, I refused to wear full-length jeans today anyway; I put on a pair of denim capris instead. Indoors and upstairs, it wasn’t an issue, but down HERE in the basement, I’m freezing. Granted, in a few minutes I’ll feel fine, but in the meantime I’m really cold.

Lent, Day 13: Outdoor Walkin’
Andy was called for Jury Duty today, which meant he had to arrange for a sub and then head to the courthouse first thing this morning to report in. Apparently once he got there, they had the jury candidates lined up in the appropriate room and waiting, and then the judge came in to announce that the one of the lawyers was ill and would not be able to appear. Therefore, the trial was called off and the jury candidates were free to go.
So..what started out as a potentially annoying day turned into a day off. The weather was warm, so when he got home I begged permission to go out and take a walk with Phoenix. You know, outside. On the actual road and stuff.
