Cleaning, Day 14: Six Flags
We spent the day at Six Flags today, so keeping the kitchen clean was no problem. We did get the bed made before we left, too. Go us.

Cleaning, Day 1: A Fresh Start!
Okay… so sleep was a bust. I admit it. I keep trying to understand why that particular goal always ends up being such a challenge, but the answer I come up with is probably too deep and involved to go into here. So we’re not going to analyze it; instead, we’re going to just start over with something new and move on to more potentially successful habits instead.

Sleep, Day 6: Bunco Night
I failed again. Maybe I should just push this back by a whole week at this point? I mean, this time I had an excuse, since last night was Bunco Night, and I came home late enough that I couldn’t really get in any walking WITHOUT blowing my bedtime, but still. I really had hoped to do better than this.

Sleep, Day 3: Woo, Sleep!
Well, that’s two days down. How far did I get last time? I can’t even remember.
Unfortunately, I can’t say that I’m actually getting more SLEEP this way. Even though I tend to go to bed kind of late, the kids usually let me sleep (or at least doze) in enough that I generally get between 6 and 8 hours per night. Well, on AVERAGE, anyway. There are outliers.

Sleep, Day 2: So far, So good..
Well, okay.. the first night went fine. I was off of the computer by 11:15 or so, and in bed by 11:28 p.m.

Lent, Day 37: Wildlife Walkin’
Well, if I have been at all lax about walking this week (and admittedly, I did skip one day), I made up for it today. The kids had a series of activities today, including a Wetlands For Kids fair at Busch Wildlife. Andy was busy with a golf tournament all day, so I had to handle it by myself with all four kids. It actually went really well, though sadly Zack and Noah missed out on Archery because the line was too long.
The only downside (which, depending on how you look at it, could be sort of an upside) was the fact that parking was an absolute nightmare. In the end, we had to park WAY up one of the side roads and walk a long ways to get to where we needed to be. That plus the walking around AT the fair was a good amount of exercise for both me and the kids.
And I still walked 2 hours tonight besides, so go me!

Lent, Day 34: How I Do It
OKay… so… I’m down nearly 60 pounds now, and believe it or not, people actually notice! I’m sure this has to do with the fact that my clothes actually fit now, thanks to Michelle and Lisa, but regardless… Easily the most common reaction I get from people is, “What are you doing?” and, when I tell them, “Wow, how do DO that?”
So this will be the overview post. It will be redundant, but it’s the sort of ’shop talk’ version of the ADF thing, so it might be interesting even if you’ve been reading awhile.
Here’s what I do:

Lent, Day 28: The Good, The Bad, the Ugly…
Actually, today was more good than bad or ugly, but right now I REALLY don’t feel like walking. I’m not even sure why, to tell you the truth. I got the kids to bed early and I came down to walk by 8:30, which is really early for me. I don’t know why that would make much of a difference, honestly, but I find myself glancing at the timer a lot more tonight than I have recently.

Lent, Day 25: Hikin’
So I did my first hike this morning. By the time we got settled last night it was really just too late and getting too chilly, so I went out first thing this morning. It was nice.
Really nice.

Lent, Day 23: Travellin’
Spring Break has officially begun here. To celebrate, we’re going to tackle something we’ve not done since November: we’re planning a trip to my family’s Lake cabin near Sullivan, Missouri. This will be the first real out of town trip we’ve made since Christmas, so it should be interesting.
