Sleep, Day 13: New Clothes!

Okay, so it’s official.  I have kicked one of the Terrible Twos for real and for sure.

As you might recall, the ‘Terrible Twos’ are the three aspects of my weight/morphology that involve the number two, none of which employ that number in a flattering fashion.   They are:

1.  Clothing sized 2X (or higher)

2.  A weight of 200 pounds or more,

and

3.  Clothing sized 20 (or 20 something).

When I started this journey, I was wearing 2x/3x, weighed 245 and was wearing size 22/24.  As of today, I have officially eliminated #3.  I finally gave up trying to make my size 20 jeans fit and begged to be allowed to get some new jeans that actually fit me.   I now have two pairs of size 18 jeans, and they fit *comfortably*, which means I think it’s safe to say I’m officially a size 18 now.

Woot.

I have, however, learned something about the fit of jeans.  Apparently when jeans actually fit me, I require a ‘petite’ or ‘short’ version.  Both of the pairs of jeans I bought were ‘average’, and now I have to roll up the cuffs to avoid stepping on them constantly. >_<

The whole short/long thing will keep changing as you go down because length can get taken up by girth. But I think smaller sizes are also cut a little differently. And jeans are hard no matter what.
