ADF, Day 3: Keeping Busy…

I feel like I should be a lot further along than ‘Day 3’, but that’s only because strictly speaking this should be ‘Day 5’.  All the same, this was my third day of fasting for this round, and it has, thus far, gone pretty well.  The kids were off of school due to an ice storm, so I empowered Firstborn and Secondborn to make breakfast and lunch, respectively, and I spent the day upstairs, cleaning and wrapping presents.

ADF, Day 2: Soup Glutton!

Ah, eating days.   I admit it: I took full advantage today.   But I will say that that’s part of the charm of this silly diet: the lack of guilt is amazing.   The sense that it’s okay to eat two slices of cranberry nut bread for breakfast because darn it, I EARNED it yesterday…   It’s a nice feeling.

ADF Hardcore, Day 10: Halfway There

First of all, serious props to Jake for getting below the 2xx mark. 🙂   It also seems that through him, we’ve set off another wave of ADF proselytes.  He has a friend who has decided to try it, and we have apparently inspired two people on a forum we both frequent to give it a try too.  Jake thinks I should write a book. 😉

ADF Hardcore, Day 9: The Accidental Vegetarian

Pangie would be proud of me.  I realized today that for all intents and purposes, I’ve been a vegetarian for over two weeks now.  I didn’t make this a goal or anything; I’ve never been especially attached to meat anyway, which is why my Lenten moratorium on meat was sort of a weird time for me.  I do LIKE meat, and there are lots of meat dishes I enjoy, but as a rule I don’t tend to crave it.

ADF Hardcore, Day 1: By Popular Demand (Ha ha)

Well, I’m back.  It’s been awhile, but life is starting to calm back down here and I’ve decided it’s time to buckle back down to a routine again.  My Blogroll has increased by two now, as two friends of mine have taken on the 21-day-goal challenge, and one of the two actually decided to do ADF, of all things.  So… between those two friends and my longtime friends who keep patiently encouraging me to hop up on the wagon again, I’m finding myself in the mood to do some ADF and 21-day journaling again.  And here I am.

Cleaning, Day 2: Sparkle, Sparkle!

Well, so far so good.  As I write this, my bed is made, my room is straightened up and my kitchen is nice and clean.  I did a good job of staying on top of the kitchen mess, especially, and made sure to put everything away right away.  I really am sort of childish about that sort of thing, and I tend to just make a big mess and leave it when I’m cooking.   This would be a good habit to break.

Lent, Day 34: How I Do It

OKay… so… I’m down nearly 60 pounds now, and believe it or not, people actually notice!  I’m sure this has to do with the fact that my clothes actually fit now, thanks to Michelle and Lisa, but regardless… Easily the most common reaction I get from people is, “What are you doing?” and, when I tell them, “Wow, how do DO that?”

So this will be the overview post.  It will be redundant, but it’s the sort of ‘shop talk’ version of the ADF thing, so it might be interesting even if you’ve been reading awhile.

Here’s what I do:
