ADF Day 1: It’s On Now

Okay.  The dreaded Holiday Season has passed, finally, and now I will be joining the throngs of Americans who return their thoughts to weight loss as part of a New Year’s Resolution.   I guess it’s nice not to be alone in this (not that I ever really am; I can nearly always count on Pangie to say, ‘Yeah! Let’s do it!” in response to any suggestion of a renewed effort in this quarter), and this time around I REALLY am not alone.   My wedding in June has become an impetus for my mother and sisters to start making a concerted effort also, so we’re all in it together now.

ADF Hardcore, Day 19: FAIL! Or not… Oh heck, I don’t know anymore.

Bah.  I failed again.

Well, sort of.   I mean, I can still switch out today and tomorrow, and I probably will… so I can save it.  But this whole week has been such a mess, I’m tempted to call it a failure and just try to start fresh on Monday.

ADF Hardcore, Day 16: Houston, We Have a Problem…

Well, depending on how you look at it, I may have to call today a failure.

Cleaning, Day 7: Ch-ch-Changes….

Bed, check.  Kitchen, check.  So far, so good.

I’m thinking a lot about changes today.

Sleep, Day 12: Facebook and Fridge Graph

I’m going to have to just give it up with this sleep goal.  It’s a great idea in theory, but I just keep blowing it.  I’m doing fine on everything else, granted. I’m walking a ton and staying true to my ADF diet plan, so I’m not too worried about it.  I just keep screwing up the sleep thing.  Meh.

Sleep, Day 11: The Cult of Personality

No, this is NOT a post about Hitler or Kim Jong Il.

Exercise, Day 9: Forever Young

My basement is like a deep freeze today, thanks to the winter storm that hit us last night.  Actually, it turned out to be far less an actual ‘storm’ and more a ‘disappointing drizzle’, since at least 3 of the predicted inches of snow have failed to manifest themselves on our lawns and streets.  Oh well.  The temperatures, at least, dropped according to plan, so we’re now officially BEHIND in school and I don’t even care.  I don’t want to spend any more time down here than the kids do.  It’s COLD.

Fortunately, walking keeps me warm, so I can still do that.  My fingertips are just going numb as I type while I wait for my body to warm up with the exercise.

Exercise, Day 18: Another World

It’s weird when you realize you’ve been doing the Sour Grapes thing without even realizing it.  Suddenly so many things you’ve rejected as irrelevant or unimportant start becoming interesting to you.  It’s enough to make you feel sort of foolish.
