ADF Day 11: Bein’ Social…

This really has been a weekend for Being Social.

Oh, and this morning’s weight was 197.8.  Shocking, considering we had a Trivia Night last night, which meant spending several hours at a table heaped with snacky foods.  But I was smart and kept the veggie tray and hummus around me, so I don’t think I was ridiculously bad.

ADF Day 11: Emotional Vegetarianism

Today was a really good day.  It’s nice to be able to report that. 🙂

ADF, Day 5: Clothing!

Second day of my first weekend.  Believe it or not, I’m already noticing good things.

ADD, Day 2: The Drive…

Day 1 was successful.  Almost weirdly so, to be honest.   I had coffee with a little soy milk in the morning, a bowl of vegetable soup for lunch (without crackers or anything else with it besides water), and a salad with reasonably low-cal dressing at dinnertime.   During the rest of the day, not only did I not eat anything else, but I also didn’t want to.

ADF Hardcore, Day 9: The Accidental Vegetarian

Pangie would be proud of me.  I realized today that for all intents and purposes, I’ve been a vegetarian for over two weeks now.  I didn’t make this a goal or anything; I’ve never been especially attached to meat anyway, which is why my Lenten moratorium on meat was sort of a weird time for me.  I do LIKE meat, and there are lots of meat dishes I enjoy, but as a rule I don’t tend to crave it.

I did it!  Easter is here, and I made it all through Lent without breaking down and eating meat.

Lent, Day 45: One Day Left…

Wow, I can’t wait until tomorrow!  I feel kind of silly about being THAT excited about the end of Lent, but still…   I think this is the first time I have ever ‘given up’ anything for Lent that had an actual impact on my daily-life the way this turned out to have, so I guess at the very least I feel I’ve done the thing right.   When I was younger it was always giving up things like ‘candy’ or ‘soda’, which in my case isn’t that much of a sacrifice.   I still boggle that I didn’t think giving up meat would be all that much of a sacrifice either; I was wrong about that.

Lent, Day 43: Maundy Thursday

I guess technically I broke my Vegetarian fast for Lent tonight, but this was sort of a planned thing.  Zion partnered with Apple of His Eye ministries to put on a Seder Meal for the church, which obviously involved eating lamb as part of the ritual.   I went in planning that I would participate, since the whole point of going vegetarian was as a form of religious observance, and that was also the point of tonight’s meal.
