Lent, Day 40: Did I say 40?

I meant 46.  😉  I mean, technically this is Holy Week, but Lent technically runs through Saturday, so… okay.  46 days, then.

I’m still bummed about yesterday.  I know I shouldn’t be.  I mean, I was correct in my assessment of the timing and all, so odds are it means nothing.  Just bad timing.   Fact is, it’s entirely possible that if I’d been doing daily weight checks instead of weekly ones, I’d have run into this every month.  Hard to say for sure, though.

Weight Check, Week 3.5

Starting Weight Overall:  241 (Wii Fit), 245 (Bathroom Scale)

Last week: 191.3 (Wii Fit), 192.2 (Bathroom Scale)

This week: ???? (Wii Fit), 189.4 (Bathroom Scale)

Okay, I should explain this…  I was at the lake on Weight Check day, obviously, so I didn’t actually get to weigh in as per usual.  When we got home I weighed in and the scale said 190.0.  However, this was midway through the day, not first thing in the morning.   I weighed again this morning and was told I weighed 188.8.  I decided to average the two and go from there.

So..between 3 and 4 pounds this week.  Weight watchers is suitably unhappy.  I never did weigh in on the Wii Fit, but frankly…just being within 10 pounds of my Spa Day is enough satisfaction for me. 😉  The Wii Fit can wait until next week.

Weight Check, Week…whatever.

I have no idea how to establish the weeks at this point. 😉  I guess this would technically be week 0.5 of Lent, since I’ve only been doing the Lent thing since Wednesday.

Starting Weight Overall:  241 (Wii Fit), 245 (Bathroom Scale)

Last Week: 200.9 (Wii Fit), 202.0 (Bathroom Scale)

This week: 194.9 (Wii Fit), 196.6 (Bathroom Scale)

Okay, so now EVERYTHING is yelling at me.  I thought the Wii Fit was going to require medical attention, it was so upset. “You have reached your goal much faster than anticipated!  This can lead to WEIGHT REBOUND!!!  Doom Gloom Ooooh!”

I haven’t gone to Weight Watchers yet, but I know that won’t be pretty either.  And frankly, I’m not feeling as flip about that as I probably sound.  I’m glad to have weighed in so low, but this is clearly the result of my less-than-stellar appetite of the past week, and I really do think Weight Rebound or whatever could be an issue if I’m not careful. :/

Sleep, Day 1: Still Getting Yelled At.

So I lost ~ 2.6 pounds last week.  That’s still utterly amazing to me.   I really meant it last night when I said I’d be fine with just staying the same and not gaining anything, so this feels like an unxpected bonus.

And of course, even though the loss this week didn’t tip over the 3-pound mark, I’m still getting gripes from my Weight Watchers Online account.  “While it’s normal to lose an excess of 2 pounds per week in the first few weeks of your weight loss plan, a normal rate of weight loss is between 1 and 2 pounds per week.  Anything greater than this can result in muscle loss, heart complications and other health issues.  You will want to moderate your eating habits to reduce your loss to between 1 and 2 pounds per week.”   It’s getting so that if I’m NOT scolded, I feel like I’ve failed.

Exercise+, Day 12: Workin’ It In the Eleventh Hour

Technically, I should probably say I failed today, since I’m finishing up and it’s nearly 1:00 a.m.  However, in my defense I technically DID get 120 minutes of ‘exercise’ in before midnight…  I finally made good on my threat to get up early and do some Wii Fit first thing.  I got in an hour’s worth of workout, but on the whole I wasn’t satisfied with it, so I’m still going to do at least 100 minutes on the treadmill.

I’m such a slave driver!  But I intend to backdate (or at least back-time) this entry, because it’ll bug me to see a day on the calendar that isn’t filled. 😉  Cheater, me.

Exercise+, Day 11: Sickness and Superbowl

Wow! I made it down here to walk before 10:00!  Go me!

And, I am pleased to report, though this weird illness has claimed four of my six family members to date, both Noah and I are going strong.   As of this writing, I don’t have any symptoms at all, and I’m hoping it stays that way.  Noah is also surprisingly healthy considering he shares a room with Luke.  Granted, Luke sleeps below him on the bunk beds they share, but still.  I would have expected Noah to come down with this before either Susanna or Zack, and yet he’s fine.  I seem to recall Noah getting sick more or less by himself awhile back, so maybe he’s just had this already.

Me?  I blame my uber-healthy habits. 😉  Inside me there are complete Quinoa proteins shaking their spears and rarring at any invaders.  Just try to infect me!  I dare you!  My leukocytes are ready for you!  They have been armed with spinach and red bell peppers and celery and broccoli and quinoa and whole-grain wild rice!  So there!

Of course, just watch…tomorrow I’ll wake up and run for the bathroom. 😉  That would be about right.  And don’t think for an instant that Andy will stay home from work to help out if I do.  No sir.   So God, please do not let this happen to me tomorrow.  If it must happen, let it happen Saturday.  That would be just fine.

Exercise+, Day 1: Lame Labels

Wow… I feel completely off my game today.   I mean, it was a busy day, and an unusual one for starting a new cycle, but still.  Wendy and her boys came out and spent lunch and the afternoon with us, so I didn’t really have a ton of time in the end to dedicate to the goals I set down for myself.

Nonetheless, I did enough to count today a success.  I walked my 120 minutes, and I spent part of the evening sitting down with Daylite’s Concept Manual so I could finally get my brain around everything it can do.  It’s a great program, but it’s one of those things where it’s designed to be applicable across a rather broad spectrum.   Big companies with a huge workforce and a diverse array of clients can use it to delegate duties and track project progress, etc.  Given that, I have a lot of fat trimming to do to get it to work for me.

So, I spent part of today setting up categories and keywords that seemed applicable. It doesn’t sound like much, I guess, but I didn’t have a lot of time.  Anyway, it needed doing.

Zack is caught up on his schoolwork.  Noah didn’t have any.  Success there too.

I think I will amend my exercise regimen somewhat this time around, actually.  I know I said I would walk for at least 120 minutes, but I think I’m going to amend that to ‘do at least 120 minutes of exercise’.   I’m wanting to give the Wii Fit another shot, particularly the Yoga, but I want credit for it if I do that. 😉  Especially since it’s something that eats up time as a standalone activity; I can’t do computer work while doing Yoga, after all.  I just want to feel like I’m doing something for upper body once in awhile too.
